This is flexible waveguide, which is a world-first technology.It can be realized 5G and beyond5G high-speed communication with the highly reliable wired system.
This technology was awarded the New Value Creation Award Special Prize in 2021. (新価値創造賞 特別賞)
Flexible waveguide applied “braiding technique”, which is no other technology in the world.
It has comprehensive advantages, compare with conventional communication technologies.
The waveguides have a small loss of transmission. That is why it is widely used as transmit signals and way of electronic transmit in field of above millimeter Wave.
Conventional waveguides are very heavy, and difficult to bend freely.So, it caused problems for inferior in terms of constructability.
Then we have developed light and flexible waveguide by using braiding technology.The core material is low dielectric loss. The outside of this core material is braided with flat yarns.We have used this technology to develop light, flexible waveguides.
This flat yarn is a bonded metal and resin film, does not cause wrinkles when bending.

Sample shipments of improved V-band and E-band flexible waveguides will start in December 2021.
